The Abdullahs Hold the Key.....

Its after a long time have i seen Mr. Umar Abdullah upset on a TV debate(NDTV), every one felt he meant each and every word he said, One could see it from his face ,there was no politics, no pretention but a kashmiri talking his heart out. I happened to meet lots of people from different walks of lives and every one had the same opinion. There was, however, a BIG request,"tell Omer to be cautious". People are afraid I repeat very very afraid that NC might go along with congress or abstain during the assembly vote of confidence to save Naba's dispensation. Although it has been made abundantly clear by Omar time and again that he has nothing to do with Congress, but i feel it might put to rest all apprehensions if an official press release is released stating that come what may, NC will neither support him nor abstain. If such a situation arises it would be in the larger interests of the Party and the State resigning en-mass rather then play with the sentiments of the common people.

Its The Abdullah's who hold the key.
You may like them or hate them , but you cannot ignore them.

Mr. Tanveer, Good to see a Kashmiri Blog. I have seen a few but most of them are separatist inclined. Bookmarked your blog and hope to be back and read more of your thoughts on the real situation in Kashmir.

BTW what is your take on the BJP bandh in Jammu? The politicians may be claiming that this SASB fiasco is not about communal mistrust. But do you feel being in Kashmir that the muslims there are really not anti-hindu??

I have written about the SASB on my blog, please read it and let me know what you think.

Also, I have posted a link to your blog if it's alright with you.

Dear Friends,
Recent demonstrations by kashmiris are witness to the fact that Kashmiris are neither anti Hinud nor voilent. Even with so much of provocation by Indian govt by way of land grab, no even one Yatri was attacked by Kashmiris. Kashmiris respect the sentiments of the people of other faiths and are largely peaceful. Remember Ghodra, Mumbai riots etc. The fact is that Kashmniris were promised the right of self determination by Indian govt as well as by United Nations in late 1940's. Right remains right and with the passage of time one cannot deny this right to Kashmiris. Let people of Jammu,Kashmir and Ladakh decide the fate of the state. India must respect the will of people of the state. If poeple decide for India,Pakistan or Independence, the decision must be respected. How long can India suppress the freedom struggle of helpless kashmiris and act like dictators.

BEYOND THE LENS_You Can Only Understand It If You’re Kashmiri Or Have Lived There;
Will you believe those experienced administrator's who were Governing this state for some time and then facilitate this transfer, were totally unaware of this spontaneous response which it evoked, or were taken totally by surprise ,the mass protests seen on streets of valley.unbelievable and hard to swallow----is there anything which lens can,t catch -a hidden agenda;wait and see whether this unholy event, which many Kashmiris hope would be a step toward their cherished goal of Azadi and actually unlock Kashmir from its present stalemate or push it to more tragedies.Before you talk about right and wrong, please take a moment and pray for all the hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris who want peaceful solution in this bloody war.You Can Only Understand It If You are Kashmiri Or Have Lived There.Unfortunately, the voice of the ordinary Kashmiri is lost in the din of propaganda war between global powers.

A video I made on history of Kashmir. All feedback's are welcome.
